"THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON" - An overblown movie on the skimpy premise of a man (Brad Pitt) who is born as a wrinkled old man and then grows younger rather than older. The ugly baby is shunned by his natural father and is raised by a loving black woman as her own. Thereafter the Thirties story revolves around the love that he has for a girl, then a woman (Cate Blanchett), who is aging normally, so the two spend the rest of the movie poignantly moving in the opposite direction through time. While as well made and as well acted as could be expected, this movie lives or dies on its shaky premise, and my interest waned considerably during its overly long running time. (B, rent it)
