"GRAN
TURINO" ... Clint Eastwood's final tour de force as a
78 year old actor. He stars as Walt Kowalski, an embittered and bigoted Korean War vet and recent widower who watches with
disdain as his Detroit neighborhood is taken over by Hmong refugees. However, he slowly comes to realize that their strong
family values and work ethic more closely mirror his own values than do those of his own children and grandchildren, from
whom he is estranged.
His "Dirty Harry" persona comes to the rescue when ethnic gangs start to plague the neighborhood.
The name of this movie comes from the car that Clint actually owns.
Christopher Carley deserves kudos
for his meaty role as Father Janovich, as do the Hmongs who are all unknown actors. (A/SEE IT!)
